SaWaShea works with a collective of women in northern Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), West Africa, to offer you a variety of handmade, high-quality, organic, fair and direct-traded Shea Butter and Shea products.
This initiative focuses on the well-being of all: your well-being as well as the socio-economic upliftment of the women with whom SaWaShea works.
Shea Butter (“si tulu” in Bambara and "karité" in French, derived from the wolof word "ghariti") is a source of natural antioxidants (rich in vitamin A and E), traditionally used in West-African countries as a natural source for smoothing the skin, healing, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, as a natural resource for cooking, etc..
In order to have a sustainable impact, SaWaShea does not only sell Shea products but also offers knowledge-sharing programs about the world of Shea such as its provenance and history.
